Ms. Kelly Block, MP, CPC, Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar
Dear Ms. Block,
Re: I request that you have me charged for my illegal possession of my firearm
I have enclosed a letter that I sent to the Prime Minister on 13July2013. I therein outline why I condemn Mr. Harper for betraying responsible firearms owners. We trusted Mr. Harper to honour his promise and implement the Conservative Party Policy to respect the “rights of law-abiding Canadians to own and use firearms responsibly.”(1, 2)
Therefore, you may understand my disappointment with your pronouncement in Parliament:
On New Years Day 2003 seven members of the Canadian Unlicensed Firearms Owners Association, about a hundred supporters, and I were on Parliament Hill to demonstrate for our Right to have “Armes for their Defense”. We base our belief in our individual Right to have the means to protect our families, our property, and ourselves on the 1689 English Declaration of Rights.(4)
On that cold morning in Ottawa ten years ago we were fighting Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chrétien’s 1995 Firearms Act. As you are aware, this Act, and its attendant changes to the Criminal Code, make the mere possession of a firearm illegal. Now, inexplicably Mr. Harper not only endorses, but enforces this mendacious law.
The Supreme Court of Canada bases many of the Rights that you enjoy as a Member of Parliament on the provisions of the 1689 English Declaration of Rights. But in a bit of twisted logic that I cannot begin to comprehend, that Court refuses to hear our arguments in support of our belief in individual self-protection that comes directly from Article Seven of the 1689 English Declaration of Rights. You may note,
follows after our Right to have Armes.(4)
I and other members of CUFOA are once again employing peaceful civil disobedience to affect the repeal of this treacherous law.
Since you publically endorse the licencing of firearms owners, and I intentionally own my firearm without a licence as a direct, open, public illegal action in opposition to this fallacious law, I request that you have the Saskatoon RCMP charge me for my crime.
I would greatly appreciate your prompt, positive consideration.
