Dear Delegate to the Saskatchewan Party Convention,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ed Hudson. I am running for election as your President of The Saskatchewan Party.

After graduating from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, I served for three years in the U.S. Army Special Forces (Airborne) with 26 goods jumps. My last jump, number 27 in Panamá, was not so good. In our "stick" of ten jumpers, I jumped last and quickly passed everyone as I had a malfunction with both of my parachutes.

After learning to walk again, I went back to university. Once I completed my Masters Degree, my wife and I moved to Canada where I taught small animal medicine for four years at the University of Saskatchewan, Western College of Veterinary Medicine. I spent a brief time with Agriculture Canada in food inspection and completed my veterinary career with a house-call small animal practice in Saskatoon.

My wife and I are thirty-seven year residents of Saskatoon. We have two married daughters. Upon their graduation from university, the elder dispersed to Manitoba and the younger to Holland where we play with our grandkids on the sand dunes on the North Sea.

Since retiring, I have invested considerable time as secretary of the Canadian Unlicenced Firearms Owners Association. CUFOA's sole purpose is to have the federal Government respect our Right to own firearms. Some lawyers joke that I have spend more time defending our position in court than they have with all their clients.

I have been an active Saskatchewan Party member since the October 2003 election campaign when I assisted with Shelly Hengen's run in Saskatoon-Meewasin. I have served as secretary and president of Saskatoon-Meewasin Constituency for over ten years. The highlights of that time were assisting in Roger Parent's 2007 campaign when he knocked Liberal Leader David Karwacki out of the race, and then assisting Roger as he won his MLA seat in November 2011.

I have provided my formal résumé below. My views on individual freedom and our relationship to government are posted on our CUFOA website and my FaceBook page.

I will soon be sending you my reasons for running for Party President. At that time I will invite you to participate in a dialogue with me.

Ed Hudson
