Re: Firearms owner accused of assault. I have heard of taking a gun to a
knife fight but never machine guns to a fist fight.

I have also heard of otherwise law abiding gun owners, that have openly
refused to comply with the Firearms Act, called heroes by other gun owners.
Perhaps they just knew all along that the real heroes were the ones that did
comply. A person has to be really brave to risk being terrorized by the
police for the slightest transgression, just because they are known to
own a gun.

With the Firearms Act, gun owners that had already been required to
undergo background checks and safety training to obtain their firearms
were suddenly criminalized for the mere possession of one without their
papers being in order. It is little wonder some of them appeared to see the
writing on the wall. Maybe that is why they recognize the Conservative
plan to maintain that criminalization when they "get rid of the registry"
as a creative use of smoke and mirrors. It's the criminalization not the
licensing and registration stupid.
