Mr. Garry Breitkreuz, MP, Yorkton-Melville CPC
Dear Mr. Breitkreuz,
Re: Request for an Appointment in Yorkton in August or September
I trust that there has been some inadvertent misunderstanding, but when I called your constituency office this morning to confirm when you could meet with a very small contingent from CUFOA later this month, your receptionist informed me that you would not have time to meet with us before you return to Ottawa.
I had called initially on 08 July to arrange a meeting, and I have called back twice to see when we could meet. On my third call on 15 July the receptionist informed me that you “would not be available” to meet until mid-August. Now I am informed that you are not available at all.
I certainly hope that this information is in error and that you will be able to find time to meet with a group of three or four CUFOA members before you depart Saskatchewan.
We were terribly disappointed that Ms. Candice Hoeppner was promoted to Parliamentary Secretary to Minister of Public Safety Vic Toews as we do not think Ms. Hoeppner understands even one-percent of what you know about the Firearms Act.
We would like to have your personal, unvarnished opinion of what is really happening inside the Conservative Caucus. We want to know if there are any other Conservative Members of Parliament who understand the difference between the licencing of gun owners and the registering of firearms. We need to know if the Conservatives now subscribe to the Liberals’ licencing scheme that destroys our Right to defend our selves.
Simply “ending the long gun registry” is a betrayal of Mr. Harper’s promise to repeal all of the Firearms Act and its attendant Criminal Code provisions that makes the mere possession of a firearm a criminal act. We need your advice on how to get that message to your Caucus colleagues. I am hopeful that you will find time to discuss this vitally important issue with us.
