The War on Guns

The aftermath of the tragic shooting in Las Vegas teaches us that we need to realize that there is a "War on Guns."

The Liberal Government continues to talk of more restrictions on responsible firearms owners.(1)

The news media almost universally presses for more restrictions on our Right to possess firearms.(2)

Yet with the Firearms Act licencing scheme our Canadian Government already has the power to eliminate the private ownership of firearms.(3)

We must regain our Right to have 'Armes for their defence'.

Fortunately, we have a steadfast ally on our side: John R. Lott, Jr., author of "The War on Guns, Arming yourself against Gun Control Lies".(4)

Now, more than ever, we need to heed Dr. Lott's message and prepare ourselves against the lies of the people who want to disarm us.

2. Gun violence isn't just a U.S. problem—and Canada isn't immune

Opinion: Canada shouldn't ignore its own gun-violence problems, from rising rates in our cities to inadequate government support

3. Garry Breitkreuz, Orders-in-Council, firearms reclassification

Bill C-68 ... gives the government such sweeping power that they could ban any or all firearms in Canada and not even the Supreme Court of Canada could overturn it. ... Why would the Liberals give themselves such awesome power if they didn't intend to use it? 1

4. John R. Lott, Jr., author of "The War on Guns, Arming yourself against Gun Control Lies"

When it comes to the gun control debate, there are two kinds of data: data that's accurate, and data that left-wing billionaires, politicians, and media want you to believe is accurate. In The War on Guns, economist and gun rights advocate John Lott turns a skeptical eye to well-funded anti-gun studies and stories that perpetuate false statistics to frighten Americans into giving up their guns.

John Richard Lott Jr. (born May 8, 1958) is an American economist and political commentator. Lott was formerly employed at various academic institutions including the University of Chicago, Yale University, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Maryland, College Park, and at the American Enterprise Institute conservative think tank. He is currently a Fox News opinion contributor. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from UCLA.
