Dear Mr. Klaassen,

Re: Hudson v. Attorney General of Canada – Payment of Costs to Close File

Thank you for your eMail of 01 August 2012 with the attached letter from Nicole Boucher, Registrar of Firearms, RCMP. Your eMail and Ms. Boucher’s letter stating that the Notice of Revocation is “no longer applicable” and that my four (4) firearms are “no longer subject to surrender” seem to address quite well all that I need to ‘close this file.’

I have enclose my personal check for two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars as my full and total payment of the agreed upon court costs for all actions involved in the “Humboldt (Carmel) Firearms Seizure.”

I have also enclosed a copy of the “Notice of Discontinuance” and my cover letter to the Supervisor of the Provincial Court, Saskatoon, as you suggested would be appropriate as the proper manner in which to alert the Provincial Court to our agreement.

I understand that this letter and my payment is the final page in this final episode, i.e., I do not need to appear in Court on 11 September 2012. If your understanding is otherwise, and we need to appear in Court, please so advise me.

I appreciate your assistance in the successful termination of this legal action.

Subject: RE: Firearms Reference Matters/Hudson

After discussions with my client in response to your request for a letter regarding the revocation certificates, I attach the following signed by the Registrar of the Canadian Firearms Program together with my original letter. I trust this will be satisfactory.

Regarding your request that the forfeited firearms be made available to the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, I have passed this on to the RCMP. However, the disposal of the guns will remain at their discretion.

I hope the foregoing will resolve what is outstanding. I look forward to hearing from you.

Don Klaassen
